Profile bio

About Russell Singleton

I am passionate about getting results in complex medical device businesses. I do this by coaching leaders and leadership teams from siloed execution to high-functioning with strategic alignment across the business for highest, sustainable value creation. I instill a “listen-first” customer (problem) focus to identify the right market opportunity. I am a credible partner with technology teams to align/match solutions to the right market opportunity.I am known as an expansive thinker who blends my R&D experience with a commitment to operational excellence, marketing expertise, and a deep leadership background. I am highly respected for my ability to positively impact the trajectory of ideation by putting the right people, processes, and technology in place to solve critical internal and customer problems. I have a focus on mentoring women leaders and a focus on promoting diversity within a business. I am a tenacious yet adaptable servant leader who creates cultures where new ideas, individual strengths and professional development are encouraged while integrity, work ethic and customer focus are expected. I examine what others often leave unexplored. Throughout my executive leadership career, I have challenged ingrained assumptions, harnessed underappreciated trends, and leveraged resources to creatively solve complex customer problems. As a result, I have earned a reputation as a divergent thinker able to remove critical hurdles, transform the strategic direction of diverse businesses, stretch performance beyond previously accepted limits, and leave a legacy of innovation. I have extensive experience in complex medical device products especially with automation (AI and robotics) and imaging technologies. Two examples I am most proud of:• I overcame the prior R&D team’s 3-year history of missed milestones in delivering CE Mark achieving certification in one year. Over the next 4 years, I removed team silos, reimagined product development into strategic generations, and gained C-level buy-in. We released 5 new products , with 8 FDA 510(k) clearances, and added 140+ issued and pending patents. • I led a post-acquisition turnaround of a $170M software and capital equipment division in the midst of competitive pressures. We refocused the portfolio on growth markets and completed award-winning first-gen product, achieving a $23M backlog. We aligned the business with next-gen product and raised $3M internally to drive completion, elevating market share from 22% to 40%+.
