Russ represents virtually every type and size of business venture and entity in a wide array of entrepreneurial endeavors. He is outside general counsel to several of Long Island's largest privately owned companies for whom he provides advice on corporate and business matters. Russ regularly represents clients in the telecommunications industry ranging from local small store operators to global master dealers including several of the largest master dealers, distributors, and accessory groups in North America. His robust real estate syndication and private equity practice compliments his corporate practice.Russ serves our clients as lead counsel on innumerable corporate transactions including private placements, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance, planning and strategies, service and equipment agreements. He supports our clients from the planning, structure and negotiation phase of any transaction through to closing and beyond. Russ's expertise in negotiating complex business settlements is unparalleled. Clients often seek his counsel in resolving matters before and during litigation. Over the past several years, Russ has successfully negotiated business and personal disputes to the clients' satisfaction in excess of $250 million. He works closely with the Litigation, Real Estate and Restructuring Groups. Prior to his admission the the New York Bar, Russ graduated from Duke University in 1995, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in English and Drama. He studied at the Loyola University Rome Center for Liberal Arts and the University College of London in 1993. In 1998, Russ earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School. He was awarded the Corpus Juris Secundum Award for Excellence in Contracts.Prior to joining the Firm, Russ practiced at one of Long Island's largest law firms, first as an entry-level associate and eventually as a senior partner. After 15 years at his first firm, Russ helped build the business law practice for 3.5 years at another Long Island law firm.
