A 20 year clean tech and automotive industry executive, with passion and expertise in electric vehicles, EV charging and integration with the grid. Leader of strategy and sales in EV industry at large corporations and small startups. Successful track record of building teams and bringing new hardware and software technologies to market including residential batteries, V2G school buses, software aggregation and V2H systems. At Nissan I worked in corporate strategy in a cross-functional team launching the Nissan LEAF in 2010. This role led to many firsts including leading Nissan’s first Vehicle to Grid (V2G) project in 2012 and the first battery second life energy storage systems, incubating Nissan’s 4R business. At Mercedes-Benz I dove deeper into using EV batteries for commercial and residential energy storage systems and made valuable connections with the solar industry. Interconnecting energy storage taught me valuable lessons applicable to Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) in my next role at Nuvve, a V2G startup. At Nuvve I was able to initiate and secure a large number of the first V2G school bus projects in the country including projects with ConEd, SDG&E, FPL and Duke. This required building partnerships with commercial vehicle manufacturers and charging stations companies. After Nuvve, Kaluza has given me deeper expertise on cloud-based software aggegrators and their essential role in how to monetize smart charging and V2G. Along the way I’ve been able to do some interesting consulting and advising to various startups in the space including ReJoule and advanced battery diagnostics company, Epic Charging, and EV Fleet Management software company and Flex Power Control a Vehicle to Home hardware startup with advanced power electronics.I feel very lucky to have been able to build teams and deploy new technology in all aspects of the EV industry including EVs, EV charging, batteries, solar, energy storage, software and hardware.
