Working within DC Thomson as an SEO & Analytics Manager. Conducting full SEO audits of current sites and new projects, identifying strengths, weaknesses and market opportunities. Ensuring all properties conform to SEO best practice and implementing strategies to provide the best ranking and conversion results. Training staff members on the implications of SEO and encouraging increased participation in social networking within the company’s social policy. Utilising social platforms to maximise traffic to our websites in order to increase advertising revenue, brand awareness and interaction. Creating holistic social strategies for national brands, characters and publications. Producing sets of statistics for various key stakeholders in a consumable and actionable format. Crafting deeply targeted seasonal and all-year-round AdWords campaigns with an exacting focus on ROI.

Worked within Angus Council as an Information and Systems Support Assistant. Produced detailed statistics based on the inventory data, to analyse hardware trends and company requirements. Provided consultancy regarding the Council’s proposed uptake of Social Networking, and developed company policy regarding this. Provided first line business support for internal clients, and also maintaining the council’s property and land gazetteers utilising GIS software. Secondary duties include coordinating extensive IT inventories council wide and implementing procedural changes within the department to ensure best practice. Trained internal clients on the use of software and procedures used within the council.

Worked within the web design company which produces Activedition Online Content Management System, as an IT Support Consultant. Regularly produced and analysed support statistics, to identify how we could more effectively and efficiently provide support. Trained clients to use the online Content Management System and third party online software including social media plug-ins, Google analytics and reporting software. Also provided advice regarding site structure and content including tips to improve SEO. Tasked primarily with running the technical support desk, on first and second line support. Secondary duties included maintaining the company’s extensive server network, Internal support, completing backups of the companies vital information, and generally supporting the IT infrastructure company wide. Coordinated a rework of the company’s installation documents, greatly improving the installation procedure, consequently reducing the number of inquiries to the support desk.
