I love working with people to communicate the value of a product through its brand story and heritage. I am not so great at blowing my own horn and would rather attribute success to others rather than to my own ability. So, here's a few quick points about my journey so far:I've had the privilege of leading amazing teams of marketing professionals for more than 10 years. Nothing brings me more joy than to see another team member develop their talents and realise their dreams. I will admit that it is not always easy-going being a leader, but it is extremely rewarding when a team member enjoys doing what they do as much as I do.I started my career with a global iconic tyre brand while developing marketing analysis and research software for product managers in the auto industry. Never afraid to put my hand up to a new challenge was a key to success in developing my career and international experience. Now I find myself working in the fast paced world of retail which has not only given me a new understanding of consumer behaviour but reshaped my thinking into the urgency required to solving business problems and meeting customer expectations.When projects need to get done, or new ideas need to be explored, I immerse myself into the details to gain a better understanding of how things work. This curiosity has allowed me to develop a detailed understanding of business processes that has proven helpful in identifying the success factors and collaborators needed in a business to implement a project successfully.Outside of work I enjoy reading, cycling, and taking the 4x4 out on the weekend, why:- A mentor once told me that “Leaders are readers", so I embraced the task of continually learning and reading, both fiction and non fiction.- Many business challenges have been solved on a bicycle ride early in the morning, it may not be for everyone but it has served me well over the years.- Because cars have been part of my career for so long, nothing is more enjoyable than getting behind the wheel of a car and travelling off the beaten path. We live in a country where exploring our own backyard should not be taken for granted.
