Russ Glickman, CAPS (Russ@GlickmanDesignBuild.com) is the founder of Glickman Design Build, a home remodeling company that has been serving the DC Metro area for more than 40 years. Russ is passionate about helping his clients see the visions for their homes come to fruition. It’s more than just a business for him. Russ was nominated by Isiah Leggett and serves on the Montgomery County Commission on People with Disabilities. And although 50% of his business focuses on general remodeling— additions, kitchens, bathrooms, interiors and exteriors, he has a strong passion for and expertise in helping those with mobility challenges with universal design and aging-in-place solutions. As the father of a child with cerebral palsy, and having been a caretaker for an aging parent, he is well versed in the unique needs and sensitivities of families where physical disability is part of their day-to-day life. That knowledge allows Russ to design beautiful and functional projects for his client’s whatever their needs may be. Russ Glickman is called upon regularly by some of the most prestigious law firms in the DC & Baltimore area to assist attorneys and their client’s in litigation involving personal injury cases. He reviews cases to ensure attorneys are placing proper valuations to restore Independence to clients who have lost everything due to no fault of their own. He serves as an expert witness for wheelchair accessible home assessments, modifications, conversions, and home redesigns. He also prepares detailed cost reports, assists with case reviews and depositions, & provides courtroom testimony for attorney’s clients.Russ is currently working with a robotics engineer to design a "drive-by-wire" computer/sensor assisted power wheelchair for a client who needs help.Russ Glickman is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist. Russ also recently received the NARI Master Certified Remodeler Designation. According to NARI, “These are the leaders of our industry.”
