Russ Knight is Regional a Certified Employee Assistance Professional and Human Resources Consultant, Russ working with employees who either need to or want to improve their performance. He also works with employers and employees when the employee is being terminated for cause. When most people think of Russ’s professional services, they think about his training in a variety of topics including Preventing Harassment and Preventing Workplace Violence. His sessions are interactive, memorable and fun! Over his career, Russ has provided training to over 2,000 companies in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.The last 20 years of Russ’s career he has worked with employers who have high risk employees who may be a danger to themselves or others. He realized that so much of the violence that employees bring to the workplace is both predictable and preventable. "I feel blessed to have worked with several hundred high risk employees and not a single one went on to hurt themselves or anyone else. Also, only one employee went on to file a law suite. In every other case, I have been successful in helping the terminated employee understand that they are so much better off to put all of their time and energy into finding their next employment with my assistance. He has served on the board of directors of numerous agencies, on the Impaired Healthcare Executives Committee, the Governors State Plan Task Force for Alcohol and Drug Abuse, District Director—Upstate for the SC State Council of the Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM) and as President of the Carolinas Chapter of SHRM. He was named HR Professional of the Year for 2011 by the Carolinas Chapter of SHRM and the Greater York County Chamber of Commerce.Russ is also in long-term recovery from an addiction to alcohol and other drugs. He will celebrate 37 years of recovery in June of 2016.
