Bill Russo is a Senior Partner for McKinsey in Mexico City where he leads McKinsey’s Restructuring and Transformation Practice in Mexico. His work in Mexico is focused in Consumer Goods, Retail, Financial Services, and Private equity.Prior to Mexico, Bill was based in Africa for 10.5 years. While in South Africa, Bill led McKinsey’s Consumer Practice where he served consumer goods, retailers, and financial service institutions on a wide range of topics. Following South Africa, Bill moved to Kenya where he led the Africa Restructuring Practice and started McKinsey’s East Africa operation with offices in Kenya and Ethiopia, serving a range of clients in the Public and private sector offices.Prior to McKinsey, Bill had a number of professional roles. He was the Head of Strategy and M&A for Columbian Chemicals, the 2nd largest carbon black manufacturer. Prior to Columbian, Bill served as an Officer aboard two U.S. Navy Nuclear Powered Submarines, running all phases of operation including navigation, weapons systems, and the nuclear propulsion plant. Bill is certified as a Nuclear Engineer by the U.S. Department of Defense, holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and holds an M.B.A. from the Robinson School of Business.
