We provide critical infrastructure software to the utility industry. I lead 11 software engineers on the Mobile Workbench team. This project provides a combination of CRM and Point-of-Sale for their seed line. The team I specifically work on handles the agency, agency customer relationship, and compliance in a formal Agile Scrum environment. My daily work consisted of me using Visual Studio, AngularJS, Angular Material, REST API built using the .NET Web API connecting to a SQL Server 2016 database with Git as the version control source.

Short term contract as a C# developer working for a remote client developing an ETL process between a proprietary .NET insurance system and a legacy mainframe system.

Remote client on an in-house, end-to-end, crop insurance software package. We worked with C#, Silverlight, WPF, XAML, RESTful API, and NHibernate 3.0 in an Agile Scrum environment. During the two years, we implemented four successful project roll outs including Compliance, Crop Hail, Crop Hail Loss, and Crop Hail Accounting.

A large-scale project to replace their existing VB application. The front end used Web Forms, Twitter Bootstrap, and jQuery. The back end was Spring ORM connected to an Oracle database. I received TDD training from a 3rd Party vendor. Transitioned from the Policy team to the Financials team and implemented performance gains by refactoring some of the core financial processes, as well as contributing to the commission project.

The Information Technology Enterprise (ITE) division of the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) provides market services to other State of Iowa agencies. Development was done using ASP.NET C# with a SQL Server backend. The shop used a homegrown MVC framework for web development and NHibernate for the data access layer. We implemented a new ASP.NET MVC 3.0 project template for use on all new projects across the State of Iowa. Worked on five end-to-end projects, leading the development efforts on four of those projects. Merchant Payment Solutions division is the business unit responsible for the onboarding and maintenance of merchants accepting credit and debit card transactions. Primary responsibility was the maintenance of the M2 product. The application development used ASP, Visual Basic 6, and several side applications in ASP.NET.

An inventory management software company specializing in retail stores selling shoes, apparel, athletic, and western outfitters. Development tools included Visual Basic 6 and Access. Converted legacy code to VB.Net and SQL Server. Implemented the company’s first version control system using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, replacing the previous method of zipping up a directory and renaming it.
