- Certified aluminum/steel welder in a variety of positions with thicknesses ranging from .090”-.5” using GMAW and GTAW processes.- Layout, drill, cut, and grind/metal finish aluminum and steel using a variety of different tools and equipment, as well as fabricate some components from raw stock.- Read blueprints provided by engineers to complete all modifications that need to be completed for each custom fire truck. - Work with engineers to troubleshoot issues that occur during production. - Responsible for managing amendments to fire truck build cards, addressing issues that occur on trim line and ensuring that production continues smoothly when crew leader is off. - Re-configure fire truck cabs to last minute customer specifications with very little damage to the final product in a timely manner. - Able to work individually and as a team to get fire trucks completed according to the production schedule set by management. - Inspect raw cabs for defective welds and defects that will affect the final product.
