As an Adjunct Instructor and under the supervision of the Chief Instructor, I instruct UXO Tech I and National Lab(s) students during multiple training courses throughout the year in the proper usage of various ignition systems and explosives for the purpose of mitigation (disposal) of unexploded ordnance using the techniques and emerging technologies of today’s UXO remediation industry, and usage of explosive tools in research projects. TEEX developed the first civilian UXO Technician I course in 1999 and remains the only program to have ever been certified by the Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board (DDESB). In 2012 the National Association of Ordnance Contractors (NAOC) recognized this course as meeting, and exceeding, all UXO Tech I training requirements established by DDESB Technical Paper 18, Minimum Qualifications for Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Technicians and Personnel.

Criminalist/Detective/E.O.D.

Since May, 2008, I have been a detective/crime scene investigator, assigned to Troop 4 Criminalistics Unit, with specialized training in the identification, collection, documentation, and preservation of evidence. My investigative responsibilities include any death investigation (excluding non-Medical Examiner's cases, natural deaths, and traffic fatalities); bank robbery or any robbery involving violence and/or a gun where physical evidence might be found; sexual assault cases where a crime scene is identifiable; major burglaries; and those cases deemed appropriate by supervisory personnel. Since July, 2000, member of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit responsible for the rendering safe, the removal, and the safe storage of components of suspected CBRNE items as well as explosive chemicals, pyrotechnics and ammunition; provide information as needed to the Delaware Information and Analysis Center (DIAC) as subject matter experts; assist the Delaware State Fire Marshal with conducting post blast crime scene investigations; assist the Evidence Detection Unit with the collection and preservation of evidence; maintain and be familiar with a technical library of Bomb Data Center publications and other explosive-related publications and reference materials; maintain professional liaison with other state and local Bomb squads, Military Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units, Federal agencies and professional associations; develop emergency response plans for critical incidents involving Bomb threats, suspicious packages, IEDs, and CBRNE events; provide for the safe storage and disposal of recovered or seized Fireworks, Ammunition, Explosives, etc.; provide support to special units such as SORT, CMT, and DNREC Emergency Response Units; clear suspected vehicles, residential structures and buildings of potential IEDs and booby traps when hidden compartments or traps are located or suspected; and provide Special Event, VIP, and High Profile searches and security.
