When I was young, I was always trying to understand everything around me, and it made me realize later that science and engineering would be the right path for me. I am a biomedical scientist with 4+ years of experience in the lab, an expert in bacteriophages and biotechnology, microbiology, and biofilms. It was in the early years of the Biomedical Engineering course that I discovered that my interest was focused on health sciences and finding solutions that would improve the quality of life for everyone. The taste for always wanting to know more, made me advance in the following years in search of scientific knowledge in other areas and research groups. I took part in a project in the environmental area and then returned to medical research for a project in the area of gastric cancer. It was precisely in this last project and the certainty that it could improve the quality of life of many people worldwide that I decided to pursue a PhD to develop a safe solution against Helicobacter pylori. I enjoy working in dynamic teams, contributing with new ideas, and turning them into something real. I love challenges and my main goal is to reach patients with healthcare solutions that can change their lives. I am an active, creative and innovative person who is constantly trying to think outside the box. I am always looking for ways to simplify and I question everything I do. My ability to be effective and efficient is an asset. I have an unlimited passion for learning. In my spare time, I focus on the Scouts team, mentoring children and teenagers. I like to participate in volunteer activities, with the aim of helping others and the environment. The experience of helping people has been one of the most rewarding of my life.
