The University's Research Data Management (RDM) Programme seeks to implement a series of improvements to support the secure, ethical, and efficient management of research data. The Programme is funded to develop three initiatives: a machine-actionable Data Management Planning solution, a Secure Research Environment, and to implement Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) for the research ecosystem.As role was to provide strategic engagement for the maDMP and PIDs initiatives, with a focus on increasing awareness and building researcher understanding (and compliance) of RDM policy and processes. Latterly, I assumed responsibility for the PIDs initiative as acting Business Lead. Designing and delivering on a roadmap for PIDs integration internally will help to set the University at the forefront of PIDs adoption in NZ and to support the future flow of information across a wider institutional, national, and international research ecosystem.Key responsibilities & contributions: • Led strategic engagement for the machine-actionable Data Management Planning and Persistent Identifier (PIDs) projects, including working closely with the Change Management department to develop and implement effective engagement and communication strategies.• Devised and delivered a series of engagement activities, including co-design and pilot workshops, and supported the design of PIDs technical development activities (i.e., how best to integrate PIDs across our internal systems).• Developed communications material to support engagement activities and report outcomes to our internal governance and external stakeholders, including briefings, presentations, website content, reports and a White Paper for PIDs.
