Full-time Christmas employment in the children’s ware and home ware departments, with responsibilities in customer services, cash accounting, ordering of products and dealing with customer complaints.

During my time at Old School I ran the prescription department organising and processing the daily repeat prescriptions. Co-ordinating medication additions or alterations with hospitals, consultants, Local Health Boards and other surgeries, whilst communicating changes to patients. I also organised the flu-vaccine claims for the surgery during the exceptionally busy flu seasons. My duties also included updating of Child Immunisation lists for the Local Health Board, whilst assisting patients to the best of my ability in person and on the telephone with all appointment, prescription and general queries whilst dealing with any complaints as they arose. My time at Old School Surgery enhanced my leadership, teamwork, organisation, time management and communication skills, all of which triggered my desire to return to higher scientific education.

Whilst at Oak Tree my roles included updating of the computer systems from the paper records system, assisting in the record keeping of patient notes and assisting patients in person throughout the daily running of the practice. This employment enabled me to advance my organisation, communication and teamwork skills.
