Engaged in part time practice - Ruth Benson Landscape Planning & Design including working on a voluntary basis for organisations with environmental aims.Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute since 1980 with M Phil in Landscape Design and MA in Environmental and Spatial Planning (2013). Broad-based experience of landscape and landscape planning in public, private and voluntary sectors including:- contribution to partnerships and projects, project initiation and management; - advice on complex high-profile casework including housing, minerals and waste, nationally significant infrastructure projects, highways; - carrying out and developing landscape assessments, strategies and guidance;- proactive advice and support on historic designed landscapes, landscape policy, landscape character assessment, landscape and visual impact assessment, environmental impact assessment, green infrastructure, greenspace studies, neighbourhood planning, mineral restoration, landscape detailing, agri-environment schemes and natural capital; - development of landscape and historic landscape evidence base for local planning; - setting up and management of landscape enhancement projects; - landscape and garden design, specification, tendering and contract management.
