Qualified as a GP in August 2008 from the Chesterfield scheme.Alongside my GP role I have also worked as a School Doctor assessing children with behaviour difficulties. I have worked as a Medical Advisor for Fostering and Adoption with responsibility for adult medical reports. The role included sitting on the local adoption panel as a Medical Advisor in addition to clinic duties for Initial Health Assessments for young people over the age of 10. I am no longer in that role, but retain a keen interest in the neurodevelopment of children and young people. For the last 10 years I have worked as a Named GP for Safeguarding Children in Derby and Derbyshire. This role involves multiagency liaison and designing and delivering high quality training in Safeguarding Children to a variety of target groups. I am co-chair of the Learning and Development Group for the Derby and Derbyshire Safeguarding Children Partnership. I have also undertaken some out of hours GP work for Derbyshire Health United on a sessional basis.
