My primary responsibility was to ensure that all Third Party Intellectual Property (TPIP) within National Strategies deliverables was licenced for use and acknowledged appropriately.I am skilled at tracking rights holders where copyright has changed hands or rights reside with more than one party. I am also able to suggest and source alternative resources for authors in the event that an application for a license is declined or unobtainable.In addition I undertook picture research, sourcing images from picture libraries and agencies across the broad scope of subject specialisms covered by The National Strategies.A key part of my role was to provide ongoing guidance and training concerning TPIP to authors as well as colleagues within the National Strategies at all stages of the publication process.

Educational books, particularly pre-school, schools and libraries for the UK, primary and secondary for Africa and the Carribean.I coordinated UK new title, reprint and co-edition production from disk to warehouse across three imprints. Over 100 new titles delivered per year, from large series to stand alone picture books and gift books. These titles had a range of bindings and a variety of print finishes such as foil embossing and blocking, spot varnish and glitter, as well as inserts or accompanying gift items.Communicated clearly and effectively with editors, sales departments, repro houses, printers (UK, Europe and Far East), co-edition customers, freight forwarders and warehouse staff at each stage of the production process to ensure products were delivered to schedule and to a high standard.Prepared for and attended major annual book fairs including stand booking and design, shipping of materials, travel and hotel arrangements, diary management and stand building, as well as holding sales meetings.Developed new links with international publishers, expanding company presence within markets in Western Europe and South America as well as managing existing relationships.
