I develop sustainable income sources that will fund core services for older people. I am also responsible for marketing, public relations and communications for the charity.My role includes:- Producing and implementing the organisation's income generation strategy for generating significant income growth.- Responsibility for all fundraising including appeals, securing grants from trusts and foundations, individual giving including appeals, major donations and legacies, corporate giving, supporters' groups and community fundraising.- Developing and implementing the charity's retail strategy including managing its charity furniture shops.- Working with other senior management to identify opportunities to generate income from charged for services.- Producing and implementing the charity's overall marketing and communications strategy. This includes producing individual marketing action plans for each of the charity's services.- Protect and develop our brand identity; identify PR opportunities and engage with a range of media to achieve positive publicity.- Ensuring the charity's fundraising and marketing activities are compliant with Charity Commission guidelines, the Fundraising Regulator, HMRC regulations, and data protection regulations (GDPR) etc.

Responsible for implementing the Museum’s fundraising strategy which included individual giving (from donation boxes to major donors and legacies), corporate giving, and securing grants from Trusts and Foundations (ranging from small family trusts to large funding bodies such as the Heritage Lottery Foundation). I organised several fundraising and networking events annually. I operated the Business Club which is an incentive scheme for companies to support the Trust. My role also included responsibility for the fundraising marketing and communication strategy. I created the fundraising promotional material such as signage, banners and displays across the ten museums, press releases, print and web content.

I completed my journalism training while working as a full-time reporter for the Shrewsbury Chronicle. I qualified as a senior reporter and responsibilities included covering major stories such as countywide primary school closures and royal visits, appeals and feature pages. Ialso gained experience of news editing which involved managing a team of reporters and liaising with sub-editors and editorial staff about the content of the paper.
