As an architect with over 30 years of experience in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, I have worked at all scales and have expertise in strategic planning, built form and estate masterplanning, landscape design, construction management and client advisory services. My sector experience covers education, health, community, transport infrastructure, mixed-use and sports and leisure facilities, with specialisms in heritage and Passivhaus design. Over the course of my career, I have worked within large and small architecture studios and for several years ran my own practice. I have extensive practical experience across every stage of the design process from consultant and client side, having led many major projects as architect and as client advisor. My commitment to low-carbon design is exemplified by the design of my own Passivhaus home, which won the Private Housing Award in the 2017 Wood Awards, the UK’s premier competition for design in wood. Specialist expertise in retrofitting and heritage architecture supports my strong belief that repurposing older buildings is essential to designing for a sustainable future. I was architect for Seven Sisters Country Park projects which won the Architects Journal Retrofit Awards for Listed Buildings in 2022. Notable project work includes client advisor for Burntwood School – which earned the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2015 – and architect for the $165 million mixed-use Plimsoll Building at London’s King’s Cross. I am currently designing and delivering Passivhaus homes in Sydney, Australia and love contributing to the wonderful city that is now my home.
