I am the director of Sales & Marketing at Osprey Lodge Assisted Living of Tavares. My position encompasses inside sales of assisted living and memory care apartment, organizing marketing events, and promoting Osprey Lodge through advertising and community outreach. Osprey Lodge Assisted Living is a premier lakefront property managed by Allegro Senior Living.My previous career history includes owning and operating Dickens-Reed Books & Bistro in downtown Mount Dora, (1992-2006), a 4,000 sq foot independent bookstore. Dickens-Reed was a community oriented cultural center encompassing the arts, music, dance and literature. The bookstore partnered with artists and musicians and writers and provided a venue to showcase their talents and works.At Dickens-Reed, I created a family-friendly environment that appealed to all ages, interest groups and tastes of the community including full time residents and tourists I sponsored events that had a consistent reach and frequency in local media and nationally published magazines and guidebooks.In 1994, I opened a franchised Joffrey's Coffee bar within the original bookstore location; in 2004 I hired a chef and expanded to a new location that included a bistro with breakfast, lunch and light dinner menus.Awards and recognition: Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award 1994; Taste of Mount Dora 2005 prize winner; numerous profile articles in local, state and national publications.
