I was Co-Investigator in the International Centre for Infrastructure Futures (ICIF) that brought together stakeholders involved in renewing the UK’s infrastructure. Through ICIF we developed a generic learning journey design framework for creating innovative, performance based business models with learning and resilient agency at the hub of stakeholder driven, improvement and transformation. I'm now working on the application of these ideas in prototypes of the learning framework with industry partners in the UK and abroad. -

We aimed to develop visible, critiquable re-presentations of educational ecosystems and to develop and evaluate tools designed for socio-technical systems modelling and ICT for sensemaking, asking how effectively they provide insight for educational leaders. We were intrigued by the possibility of developing a pattern language for identifying and reflecting on findings within and across different contexts. We shared a participatory, engaged social philosophy at the heart of which is the idea of empowerment for individuals, organsations and communities as part of complex adaptive systems. -
