Hello, my name is Ruth Cronin, and I hope you are having a great day.I'm a current student at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, varsity speech + debater and volleyball player. Since I was a young girl, my passion has been public service in my immigrant community.When I was 10, my family from the Philippines was moving to the United States, and we could not afford a proper immigration lawyer. Determined to make a change, I processed all of our legal paperwork myself and successfully brought my family to America.Since then, I have worked with other Filipino and Latino immigrants within my community to help them get their families across to the United States, and am driven to make a long-lasting career as an immigration lawyer.I have also collaborated with the San Francisco Mayor's Office and the San Francisco Human Rights Commission on projects to target human trafficking and abuse within my city. My work was highlighted in a speech by London Breed, and have gained a reputation as the "teenage immigration lawyer" by family and friends alike. My expertise in Green Cards and Family Preference Visas gives me the qualifications of a legal undergrad, and more first-hand experience than some in my desired field.In June 2024, I created a booklet named "A Silent Crisis: A Look Into The World" - part of a movement by the SFHRC advocating for rights that include education on human trafficking, better resources for regulatory authorities, and accountability for those who have suppressed the rights of another being.
