I am a qualified Mental health Practitioner and have been working within CAMHS for a number of years. I am currently working at Healios providing online Goal Based Interventions and Assessments to young people. I have also completed additional training in ADHD Post diagnostic interventions. Prior to this I worked in Community CAMHS as a Senior CAMHS Practitioner providing therapeutic interventions to young people who suffer with a variety of mental health difficulties. I feel that working within this environment has enabled me to develop my confidence as well as my skills around, risk assessment, therapeutic interventions, neurodevelopmental assessments as well as working with other agencies and families. I pride myself on being a team player and have assisted inducting new staff to the service supervising and guiding them through how the service functions. I began my journey in CAMHS working within the Core team providing case management and evidence- based interventions to young people with a range of mental health needs. Following this I then secured a Senior post within the Single Point of Access Team providing assessment and advice to young people and their families. This role compromised of identifying the most appropriate treatment for that young person whether that be referring into our service or signposting to other appropriate agencies. In 2021 I went on Maternity leave and when I returned to CAMHS I was asked to be part of the ADHD team. Since being part of this team, I have expanded my knowledge of ADHD and have taken a role in assessing young people as well as providing physical health and medication monitoring.Prior to working at CAMHS I spent a year working on a medium secure forensic mental health unit and gained a variety of skills and knowledge including sections, risk assessment, communication and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Before embarking on my nursing career, I worked full time as a Mental Health Support Worker at Alpha Hospitals. I worked on both the adolescent inpatient unit and Adult forensic service. I feel my achievements demonstrate I am a motivated and dedicated individual who wishes to expand my knowledge and skill set while working in accordance with NMC code of conduct. I am a personable, caring individual who exhibits a person-centred approach to care; a recurring feedback comment within both my training and current job role. I am enthusiastic, open to change, embracive of new opportunities and am excited to continue and progress in my career.
