I provide technical assistance for Alamo Area grant applicants for the Texas Office of the Governor Criminal Justice Grant Programs (JAG, JJDP, VAWA, VOCA). I also create, facilitate, and/or host events for the area to assist applicants with their grant compliance, grant writing, grant management, and local service highlights. Additionally, I oversee the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee through organizing monthly meetings, providing grant scoring and review trainings, allocating grant funds totaling over $13 million, and updating policy and procedures as necessary.

As an operations team member, my main duties focused on training and meeting delivery to meet or exceed the expectations of our client. Along with general logistics, my daily activities included material formatting, material proofing, document archiving, and calendar management. I was also involved in a few financial aspects of the project, including purchasing supply orders, invoicing, budgeting for 20-100+ meeting participants, and travel support at per diem rates. When needed, I also provided assistance with material organization, maintaining the general inbox, and registration.

I assised team managers and staff on projects for material development, presentations, and webinars. I provide administrative and logistical support for technical assistance projects, including development and formatting of resource materials, customization of standardized materials, and posting resources to websites. In addition, I supported technical assistance projects by conducting website user set-up, data entry, data management and upload, and data quality control review processes.

In this retail health food store, I worked with a close team to provide quality customer service. As many of the customers were loyal to the store, it was very important to maintain a positive and honest relationship to provide individualized service. Beyond working with customers, my daily tasks included clerking, inventory management and product ordering, networking with brand representatives, and marketing the store through social media.

My extensive internship at the Smithsonian CFCH gave me a diverse and educational experience in professional academia. I was a curatorial assistant to Dr. Diana Baird N'Diaye with the Will to Adorn project, editorial assistant for a CFCH publication, and the Lead-Volunteer for Surveys at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. I transcribed interviews, edited articles, edited references, edited websites, gathered possible interviewees, wrote blogs, organized images for articles, attended meetings, assisted with presentations, attended conferences and helped compile a book for the CFCH editor. As Lead-Volunteer for Surveys during the Festival, I managed volunteers, collected and analyzed data on visitor experience, and wrote a report for the CFCH office.

SML Good Neighbors is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that works with children who are rising 1st through 6th graders from six elementary schools in Bedford and Franklin Counties. The children are from families with limited resources.We provide summer enrichment programs at no cost to the families. It is one of my duties to help facilitate these programs. The children attend the day-camp lasting four weeks for five days a week. Each week has a theme: Peace Education, Nature Education, Cultural Diversity and Global Education, and Theater. I worked primarily with 2nd-3rd graders but interact with all of the age groups. The curriculum focused on reading, writing, and enhancement of communication skills. My concentration was educating the children on Peace and Conflict Resolution in the first week and beyond.

I am familiar with disaster relief, participating in signing up volunteers for the 2010 Oil Spill Disaster Relief as well as responding as a emergency disaster relief assistant in the 2010 Cheyenne River Reservation ice-storm. I was also a certified Wildlife Firefighter, participating in controlled burns in Westfield, IA.
