Partly contemplative, partly Victorian. Preserver of a period mostly forgotten.Spent many years studying because educated mothers were considered a long-term family asset. Studied English Literature and Nursing and a smattering of many other things depending on what was available wherever we moved. Married and worked in Human Resources for General Motors until my husband finished his B.A. and M.Div. Raised 4 children and have an ever increasing number of grandchildren. My husband died a couple of years ago and I returned to the family farm where I can't decide if I became a clone of my mother or my paternal grandmother. During the day, my brother is around working the land and in the evenings, my second son and I share similar interests in music, theology, writing and film. In 2008, I began building an online personal learning network and continue to experiment with the best ways to remain connected to the world of ideas when living far from academic centers. I came late to linkedin because I'm not doing networking for career purposes but I do enjoy the group discussions. While I don't think of myself as a teacher, it would appear that others do. My husband appears in my profile picture because it is the clearest way to show that I see myself as his perpetual widow.
