Respectfully greet all who approach the reception window for any reason.Answer telephone, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate person.Handle inquiries regarding general information about the clinic.Schedule patient appointments, enter patient information into Eaglesoft and also scheduling the appointment in Athena.Check-in all patients to be seen and then check them out when the appointment is complete.Make the patient connection in Athena when they have a telehealth appointment.Contact patients regarding confirmation, cancellation, or reschedule appointments.Maintain medical records room and reception area in a neat and orderly manner.Responsible for maintaining the security, confidentiality, completeness, and accuracy of the medical records.Meet regularly with Supervisor to ensure that the clinic needs are being met.Assist in the processing of eligibility applications if needed.Review patient records for up-to-date eligibility requirements and ensure appropriate physician referral forms have been completed.Scan paper charts to electronic medical record.Work in support of and in cooperation with other staff, board members, and volunteers.Using the eligibility application form and other demographic data provided, initiate the electronic medical record for each new patient.Create a patient waiting list when there is no provider available.Punctually attend staff meetings.Interpret patient complaints as clearly as possible for attending physicians as needed.Interpret, as exact as possible, physician questions to the patient.Interpret patient responses to physicians (do not interject personal observations).Interpret physicians’ instructions to patients regarding follow-up care, appointments, medications instructions, etc., as required.Other duties as assigned.
