Profile bio

About Ruth Duignan

My primary area of research revolves around nationality and cultural artefact. I explore this both academically and in my creative practice. Most recently my practitioner research has focused on the integration of technology into traditional design practice and its application to contemporary art & design production and consumption. My work is both influenced by and contrasts with, the traditional techniques, materials and aesthetics associated with traditional Irish craft. I think it is important that practitioners examine the elements of each discipline within a contemporary context, reinterpreting them with modern technologies and a current consumer in mind. This is how Art & Design evolves.

Listed skills include Fashion, Fashion Design, Apparel, Textiles, and 16 others.
