As the Assistant Lecturer for Fashion Design in First Year In semester 1 I: - Formed part of a tutorial team with direct responsibility for 40 students. In this role, I gave advice and direction where relevant to support each students Studio Practice.- Devised and delivered lectures on the topic of Textiles and Form, 3D Studies and Sustainable Design to all students. - Developed and delivered workshops, pertaining to fashion, to compliment and explore the first year Seminar/Demonstration timetable to all students.- Facilitated group tutorials and peer review sessions.- Carried out assessment and provided support and feedback to students.- Participated in preparation of the First Year Core Programmatic Review document. - Provided cover for Sewing Skills Flexible Learning course. - Attended Careers Fair in UL to promote LSAD to prospective students.In Semester 2 I:- Devised the Elective brief, a 2-week practical introduction to Fashion, designed to give students an accurate experience of the working methodologies of their chosen area. Over a 6-week period I delivered the brief to more than 60 students. I provided feedback after this process to help students make the appropriate choice of specialisation.- Developed subsequent briefs in conjunction with the Fashion department to meet First Year Learning Outcomes and current trends in contemporary fashion practice.- Devised, co-ordinated and delivered a collaborative project: Trad V Dig Fab, liaising with The Interaction Design Department in University of Limerick and Fab Lab Limerick.

I was responsible for three projects in this role, namely: - International Trade Fund: This project provided financial support to design companies who wish to participate in trade events outside Ireland- Global Irish Design Challenge: I was responsible for planning and co-ordinating the exhibition, seminar and complimenting education and outreach programmes- The Connections Capsule Project: 4 individual travelling exhibitions that travel around the world promoting Irish Design. I co-ordinated this project in conjunction with the Department of Foreign Affairs.

I provided administrative support to the Innovation Team, responsible for the continued development of craft enterprises through the provision of training and supports. While in this role I:- Developed a data entry procedure for DCCoI and the organisations Sage CRM system. In conjunction with Sage I developed and implemented formalised training and procedures.- Ensured on-going compliance of all relevant Service Level Agreements.- I assisted in the design, delivery and continuous development of courses and resources to develop the design and innovation capabilities of the craft and design sector.- Organising external/ internal meetings, attending and taking minutes.- I maintained DCCoI’s dedicated Enterprise Website (I retained this project in subsequent roles).The Market Development team at DCCoI identifies and develops new markets for Irish Craft and Design. The successful completion of my AIB Business Development Award mentoring program provided me with the opportunity to develop my international relationships by completing a residency with the fashion design label Sharon Wauchob. While there I assisted in the completion of their A/W 2012 prêt a porter collection. This involved: - Working with the design team to develop the A/W 2012 collection- Assisting in the production of the A/W 2012 sales catalogue - Assisting clients in salesroom - Processing sales orders using the online ordering system - Performing first reception quality control of S/S 2012 garments- Updating production databases daily- Compiling daily production reports, by collecting information from the multilingual workforce and editing and presenting any relevant information to senior executives- Performing administrative duties in a multilingual office

After college I set up my own label with the support of AIB’s student development award. I produced 3 complete collections under my own label. I spent 5 months working and living in Tokyo, Japan where I arranged a work placement with the menswear design label Aptform. While there I assisted in the completion of their collection. This involved: - Producing patterns, toiles and samples- Design work- Working on side collection: The Leather Project - Selecting, organising and maintaining fabrics- Responsible for quality control of garments- Manufacturing small scale in house production garments- Attending shows and meetings with, and without, other staff- Assisting in the production of the display for JFW Japan Creation textile fair
