Part of a small team of Land Quality and Contaminated Land Specialist Engineers within NHBC Technical Operations, acting as an internal consultant to project managers within NHBC and NHBC Claims.Appraisal of a wide range of third party Desk Study, Ground Investigation, Remediation and Validation reports against the requirements of Part C of the Building Regulations and the NHBC Standards when land owners, developers and house builders register sites (and prior to registration) for Building Control and Warranty with NHBC.Appraisal of the land quality and contamination risks on sites being parcelled for house building and commercial redevelopment as part of NHBC's Land Quality Endorsement service.Working on contaminated land related claims under the NHBC warranty.Provision of training and guidance to builder customers and their consultants on land quality issues.Site area covering the South West of England, working remotely from home in an Area Technical Team of Building Surveyors and Civil and Structural Engineers.A sample of key recent projects:1) Redevelopment of a former landfill site in Bridgewater for a major Housebuilder, where an innovative modular housing method was being trialled across multiple units for the first time in the south west of England. 2) Landfill reclamation scheme in Bristol/South Gloucester for several major Housebuilders, assessing the risks and engaging with all stakeholders, prior to commencement of the landfill reclamation project, ensuring that the scheme design would meet the requirements of the NHBC Standards and Building Regulations.3) Assisting a major Housebuilder in the preparation of a land bid on a former landfill site in South Bristol.4) Assisting a major Housebuilder in managing contamination risks on site following discovery of radioactive artefacts on site during the build, engaging with stakeholders, influencing the approach and managing the risks on a potentially highly challenging and contentious site.
