I'm primarily an English teacher, but I feel that teaching develops a range of transferable skills and I’m open to work in new fields. I’ve recently taken on the role of AI training for the global company Toloka, for example, based on language and analysis skills. I hold a master’s degree in English. I have broad teaching experience, specialising in Cambridge syllabus language and literature, across high school levels, including A’ Level. I have six years of formal employment in Cambridge schools, as well as extra time tutoring. I also have a TEFL qualification and experience teaching in Thailand and Vietnam. I had the opportunity to be head of the English department at Girls’ College, Bulawayo, where I was also a member of teacher committees (curriculum and staff liaison). In addition, I was the convener of the long-standing inter-schools competition, the Girls’ College Literary Competition, in 2023. I am currently studying for my PGCE to complete my teaching qualifications. I have experience in research, writing of all kinds, and proof-reading. I have worked for online, international companies (Smarthinking and Toloka). During my BA, my other major, besides English, was Social Anthropology; I also took three years of history and some philosophy. As a teacher, I believe in creating an environment that promotes creative and critical thinking, as well as real-world skills.
