  • Yaya Ace [Youth And Young Adult, Autism Centre For Enterprise] Voluntary Role
    Founder
Yaya Ace [Youth And Young Adult, Autism Centre For Enterprise] Voluntary Role Sep 2017 - Present
    County Clare, Ireland
YaYa ACE's mission is to provide a platform for youth and young adults who are autistic to start their own enterprise, either as a sole trader or in partnership with other who are like minded. This will be accomplished through specialized assessments, building on their strengths and skills, setting up with required training and pairing up with peer mentors in their area of interest. This will enable them to be productive and valuable members of our society in an inclusive way as it should be. There are very limited opportunities for young adults on the Autism Spectrum for employment and further education in Ireland. 80%-85% are either are unemployed or underemployed. I believe individuals with autism have a huge amount to offer both intellectually and economically to our country and this is currently untapped. Added to the high rate of unemployment are associated poor mental health due to lack of tangible evidence of their value in society.
