I worked as a teaching fellow for HUNT 341 Nutrition and Behaviour Change Communication. I marked most of the assignments. These assignments applied behaviour change theory and the principles of motivational interviewing.

I worked 24 hours a week predominantly seeing outpatients and covering an inpatient ward. Clinical areas covered included gastroenterology, malnutrition and nutrition support between August and October 2018.Currently working up to 24 hours per week as required covering outpatient clinics and some inpatient dietetic clinics.

Dietary intake in irritable bowel syndrome and its effect on the microbiota.I conducted four separate substudies:*an investigation of the microbiota and dietary intake in participants with and without irritable bowel syndrome (and also a look at clinical symptoms and features of the microbiota)*a longitudinal case series investigating the effect of changing (galacto)-oligosaccharide intake on the microbiota of a participant with and without IBS*a pilot study investigating the effect of changing fermentable oligosaccharide, disaccharide, monosaccharide and polyol (FODMAP) intake on intestinal transit and pH through the gastrointestinal tract*an audit of breath testing investigating the clinical value of adding methane analysis to breath testins

Saw outpatients predominantly with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) including patients with small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)
