Residential rental partnership

Followed through on the interest of the housing counseling community in the greater Baltimore area to establish a statewide professional and networking organization. Outreach to individual housing counselors and their not-for-profit organizations throughout Maryland led to 100% participation in this membership organization. The Network supported members with capacity building resources, such as e-newsletter, trainings, scholarships, in-house developed consumer focused tools and an annual conference.

Re-established HPI’s housing counseling program for foreclosure intervention counseling, as well as homebuyer education and counseling to inform consumers as well as meet requirements of government loans and grants for income eligible homebuyers. Served a greater number of households in the housing counseling program than ever before in HPI’s 10 year history. Developed and successfully administered a closing cost assistance program, Cecil Homeownership Incentive Program - CHIP, for eligible homebuyers in conjunction with Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) using Federal HOME funds. In addition, I supported HPI’s property rehab team by performing compliance reviews of borrower's eligibility for purchasing renovated HUD foreclosed properties, as well as developing a process for calculating appropriate asking prices that conform to HUDs regulations for these below market priced properties.
