Over the past year I have gained experience in basic carpentry skills, from framing to pouring concrete. I enjoy working with my hands and have a knack for this type of work. My goal is to find a way to incorporate this experience into my desire to work with the land and conduct restoration projects.

I was recently trained to be a crew leader for the SCA's National Crew Lead program. This qualifies me to co-lead a group of high school students in backcountry or front country restoration projects, and to inspire them to independently desire to protect and restore our lands.

H. J. Andrews Experimental Forest

This NSF funded internship focused on studying the plant- pollinator relationship in the alpine meadows of the central cascades. Research was conducted in the field every day, based out of the H. J. Andrews Experimental Forest. In addition to collecting data for the LTER's matrices, individual interns conducted our own research projects, mine focusing on the implied effects of forest encroachment into the delicate meadows.
