PhD entitled “Characterisation of a fast Na+ current in murine airway smooth muscle’ I am currently part of a multidisciplinary/collaborative project involving fellow scientists and clinicians from Queens University Belfast and University of Western Scotland. The project is focused on the underlying physiology of airway diseases such as COPD/Asthma. Throughout my PhD I: • Designed and conducted experiments based on the most recent advancements in my research field - continually keeping up-to-date with new and relevant publications• Presented my research at national/international scientific conferences • Reviewed data and generated publications• Collate experimental data and disseminate findings to my colleagues inhouse and with clinicians/academics within our partner institutions• Established project milestones and deadlines • Worked independently for prolonged periods of time, while maintaining continuous feedback and virtual communication with my supervisor and fellow researchers • Organised the biweekly ‘Journal Club’ within our research centre
