I am a proud Mother of a 19-year-old, who has a RARE non-inherited, disabling disease, and faces physical challenges daily that he must learn to work with in life. I try to keep up on Research for McCune Albright Syndrome/Polyostotic Fibrous Dysplasia (MAS/PFD), which (among other issues) affects his bones. I want to help teach him to apply himself and do the best he can do to be successful in life.

  My son (12-years-old) has a very rare, non-inherited, multi-faceted disorder called McCune Albright Syndrome, which causes his bones to fracture easily, and lots of bone and joint pain, which is the worst part of the disease. He also has CranioFacial, endocrine, leg length discrepancy issues, etc. that must be monitored by many Specialists. He is in a wheelchair (90%) of the time, and I try to keep him with a positive outlook, so he can be successful in life. I try to keep him motivated and to push him academically, but it gets harder to do that each year. I try to keep up on what can help him in Special Education and the technology that is available (and allowed), and constantly researching for new developments or findings about his disease, which can be a challenge sometimes.
