• Manage the tax assessments of complex transactions including corporate reconstructions, landholder transactions, superfunds, trusts, probates, court consent orders, charitable exemptions and beneficial organisation determinations;• Manage and oversee the administration of the Home Buyer Assistance scheme in the ACT, including the First Home Owner Grant, Home Buyer Concessions, Duty Deferral, Over 60’s Concession, Pensioner Duty and Asbestos Affected Homes;• Assess complex duty assessments;• Implement newly introduced legislative processes including the beneficial organisation determination;• Provide advice on statutory interpretation for the effective administration of relevant legislation• Provide briefings to senior management on various matters;• Manage and supervise teams to develop individual staff and achieve team results in the administration of legislation;• Contribute to the policy changes and legislation development of the ACT Revenue Office;• Internal and External stakeholder engagement and management

Secondment to the Criminal Law GroupPrepare policies and legislative amendments Participate in jurisdictional discussion and policy development relating to various criminal issues

• Review the Environment Protection Act 1997 and Environment Protection Regulation 2005 by assessing the effectiveness of regulatory regimes and appropriate criminal sanctions for environmental offences.• Provide legal advice and support to regulatory units of the branch. • Assist regulatory units within the branch with preparation of tribunal documents, brief of evidence and liaison with the ACT Director of Public Prosecutions.
