From a young age i knew i wanted to help people dealing with difficulty in relationships especially in Family settings. This journey has been long, tough but exciting. As a psychology student in Kenya, it was appalling to see how mental health is given less attention, the stigma associated with Mental Disorders and the hopelessness families experience, when faced with such medical conditions. Thank goodness people are now opening up to therapy and counselling from professionals.That being said my practical experince started in my internship at KENWA Organisation where i was involved in individual and group counseling of women and men infected and affected by HIV. It was an uplifting experience where i learned to really listen and view the world from my clients lens just to understand their world view. Forever grateful for the opportunity. After moving to Germany i got to volunteer at an adult psychological Center for 6 Weeks. I was just mesmerized at the opportunities in which Mental Health patients have and how their psychological wellbeing is taken seriously.Since 2014 i have been working with immigrant Teenagers as a pedagogy. Helping them settle into Germany, providing them with emotional support and accompanying them into adulthood. During this times i have learnt alot in Trauma Therapy, Non Violent Resistance teaching of Haim Omar and Child Protection laws.After i became a mom i decided to dedicate a minimum of 2,5 years to being a stay-at-home Mama. In this time i became stronger mentally, learnt and practice mindfulness, dedicated my nightshifts to be a parental coach and certainly became better at time management. In my busy schedule of working mama i also volunteer in social related field talking to children and teens. In my free time am in the gym, chatting to friends and building my home.
