I was employed as an architect for commercial projects. During this time I designed a house for the brother of a partner at the practice that won a CPRE award. As a young architect I developed my detailed knowledge of industrial construction and management contracting and improved my ability to design houses

On completion of my Part II I was employed as an architectural assistant to a national house builder on housing layout and landscape design. I designed and detailed a new set of house types for sheltered accommodation for a protected woodland site in Leeds. I developed a knowledge of house design and construction, site layout and landscape design.
