• Serves as FMLA coordinator. Administers FMLA paperwork, review documentations, determines employee eligibility and makes recommendations to approve or deny request in compliance with Federal regulations.• Maintains confidentiality of all FMLA records. • Develops and facilitates training sessions as requested for FMLA. • Final approve of Personnel Change Request (PCR) for individuals on Medical Leaves of Absence.• Update UC Flex, prepare reports and conduct audits; analyze data to identify errors and resolve.• Interpret and apply legal documents, regulations and government legislations with knowledge of health and wellness plans and the laws that affect them, including PPACA, HIPAA, ADEA, ADAA, USERRA, EEO, PDA.• Serve on appropriate university committees.• Perform duties based on departmental need.• Benefit premium billing and administration for individuals on unpaid Leaves. • ACA administration, tracking, reporting and 1095c forms.• Work with Talent Acquisition in interviewing and selection process of candidates for openings within Benefits Department.

Under the general supervision from a designated administrator, coordinate, manage and participate in the daily activities of the Benefits Department, Facilitate the delivery and implementation of employee benefit plans and programs.• Primary contact in resolving complex staff and customer service issues and concerns.• Research, analyze and interpret university policies and procedures, benefit plan provisions and bargaining unit agreements.• Assist in the development of new policies and procedures.• Provide assistance and information to the general public, university community and government agencies in response to requests, complaints, etc., and follow up in accordance with appropriate policies and/or contracts. • Research and develop benefit presentations as needed.• Utilize HR systems and make recommendations for improvements.• Perform related duties based on departmental needs.

• Presenting benefit presentation during new hire orientation twice monthly as well as assisting new hires in benefit enrollment including group life, medical, dental, vision, accident and disability insurance.• Processing of short term and long term disability claims• Leave of Absence administration• Cobra administration• Creating benefit files for upload to carriers, preparing carrier invoices for monthly payment and performing monthly/quarterly audits• Assist employees with annual open enrollment, answering employee’s questions about company benefits and other related incentive programs.
