With over 20 years of experience working in the English as an Additional Language (EAL) field, I am passionate about helping learners of diverse backgrounds achieve their language and employment goals, and improving program delivery working with peers and experts. My core competencies include curriculum planning and design for both face to face and online classes, lesson planning and delivery, writing assessment tasks, maintenance of student records, pathways guidance and end of course reporting. In my current role, I deliver EAL training and assessment in the AMEP and Skills First programs, which improve the language, literacy, and numeracy skills of refugees, migrants and eligible job seekers. I create and deliver engaging EAL courses for initial learners to advanced levels, using the EAL Frameworks Curriculum and adhering to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) standards. Using a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and needs, I provide feedback and guidance to students throughout their learning journey.In addition, I have delivered workshops at VALBEC, ACAL and MAMEP conferences, along with sessions for Community of Practice groups. I am also a member of VALBEC and ACAL. As an industry expert, I am passionate about empowering individuals and communities through education and training, and bring my multicultural and multilingual perspectives and experiences to my work both as a teacher and with industry peers.
