I am co-author of The XX Edge - a book that uses data and case studies to show that there is an overlooked investment strategy to earning higher returns – including women as financial decision-makers in your organization or team. The book shows that when women are at the center of investing – as agents and actors, we all benefit – the social, economic, and environmental benefits are clear – we make a bigger pie for all of us. In addition to my recent work as an author, I have 35 years of experience as a passionate and visionary healthcare leader, investor, philanthropist, and author who aims to promote health, well-being, and opportunity for women and girls. As the President and Founder of Tara Health Foundation, I leverage my medical background, financial acumen, and strategic thinking to invest in innovative, evidence-informed programs that address the most urgent and neglected reproductive health challenges. I am driven by the mission of improving the quality, accessibility, and affordability of reproductive health services and products and advancing the rights and dignity of women and girls. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as a woman, a physician, an entrepreneur, and a global citizen.Alongside leading Tara Health Foundation, I also serve as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Rhia Ventures, a collaborative of foundations and investors that supports new solutions and enterprises in the reproductive health space in the United States.I am also a member of the Board of Directors of Toniic, a global network of impact investors that supports social and environmental change. In these roles, I leverage my skills in healthcare management, healthcare consulting, and evidence-based medicine to identify, vet, and incubate promising deals and opportunities that have a positive social impact and align with my values and vision. I enjoy collaborating with other like-minded partners who share my commitment and enthusiasm for advancing reproductive health and justice.
