I worked in a CAST team (children’s assessment and safeguarding team) and case held children at risk of or who hard suffered significant harm. My role mainly involved completing Child and Family Assessments and Section 47 Assessments within statutory guidelines, writing reports, attending and contributing in CIN/CP meetings/conferences and devising robust plans to promote change and positive outcomes for children. The favourite part of the job was getting to know the children and listening to them and their experiences and making sure their voice was heard. It was a privilege and a challenge to support and empower parents to make the necessary changes to keep their children safe.
