As a consultant, I specialise in educating and training managers, social workers, and foster carers on effectively caring for mental health and well-being, especially in the cultural diversity of looking after children in care. This training is via workshops and presentations. The comprehensive training allows for deep exploration into long help beliefs that may inadvertently hinder the LAC from not feeling a part of the family or society. Children of Diverse Ethnicities and Cultures - (CODEC) need to feel loved, accepted and respected for who they are and what they can become given the right environment, education and direction. The training enables this to be seen as a reality and not as daunting as some have expressed. Those who have participated have shared how the information has made what seemed scary at first understandable and has helped shape the way they see the child, in that even though they are from different cultures, they have such beautiful things to learn from each other.
