I teach English to adult students from all over the world, working individually or in groups. Some of the students need help with business presentations, writing or other issues that come with working in the corporate world. Others want more familiarity with American culture and customs and just to improve their conversation. Sometimes I use specialized texts and materials; often I come up with my own.

Through Wyzant.com I work with a variety of students, ranging from foreign-born students seeking help speaking, understanding, writing and reading English to high school students needing homework help. Some people require help on an ongoing basis, while others need only one or two sessions. I've passed exams that qualify me to tutor in a variety of high school subjects, including English, Algebra I, U.S. History and Economics.

I worked with high school students and adults who were completing work for their diplomas. My job included assigning classes, supervising work (tutoring, correcting, motivating, informal counseling), helping students prep for the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE), giving final grades, and certifying that students had completed coursework and were qualified to graduate. Subjects included English, Biology, Algebra, U.S. History, U.S. Government, Economics, Health, and a variety of electives.
