Reporting to the CIO was directly responsible for working with executive management to plan and implement systems and infrastructure that support Financial Print business units at Bowne.• Appointed Year 2000 Program Director for 84 sites worldwide in 6 different business units utilizing approximately 150 custom-developed systems. Established a Project Management Office to coordinate activities of site representatives and act as a clearinghouse for component research and project documentation. Developed metrics for determining compliance. Bowne completed its Y2K remediation and testing by end of 1998.• Worked to turnaround the global Technical Services team by personally developing and conducting methodology training program for the managers of the Operations group, to improve quality and efficiency and reduce the need for crisis management.• Executive leader for Bowne’s PeopleSoft implementation of core financials.• While responsible for 24x7 operations for the Financial Printing business unit, developed problem escalation procedures, a Purchasing System that enables the department to track purchases against individual projects, as well as metrics for success for day to day operations.Critical Achievements:• Successful completion of global Y2K remediation and testing 1 year before critical event. Bowne used the business continuity plans developed by Ruth’s team to resume business operations after 9/11, and were able to resume operations within hours despite the proximity of Bowne HQ to the WTC.

• Reporting to the Executive Director and was directly responsible for all IT at the authority including: planning, organizing, and managing all technology activities necessary to support a Billion dollar construction business.• Managed a staff of 38 consisting of a mix of union and managerial employees, consultants, and interns.• Responsibilities included day-to-day management of help desk, networks, servers, telecommunications, application development, internet services and security, and connectivity to the New York City Wide Area Network.Critical Achievements:• Installed a disciplined help desk Tier 1 & 2 process to improve service to end-users. Successfully replaced all financial systems for the Authority. Launched Authority’s first web presence.
