I am a competent and self-motivated engineering geologist with 8 years’ experience in a professional consultancy role. I have a BSc (Hons) first class, in engineering geology and earth science, and have gained experience in both large-scale civil infrastructure projects and smaller scale residential development projects. I enjoy a balance of office work and site work, and have experience writing reports and undertaking geotechnical ground investigations. Core Competencies and Technical Skills- Development of robust 3D geological models, using UAV survey data and high-resolution photogrammetry scans. This includes extracting geotechnical structural data for analysis;- Planning and supervision of geotechnical ground investigation, including selecting the appropriate location and investigation type; - Geotechnical logging of soil and rock, in accordance with NZGS (2005); - Rock mass classification for engineering design;- Scheduling and interpreting strength tests on soil and rock; - Installation of piezometers and Inclinometers;- Preparation of proposals and management of contract documentation including pricing packages; - A firm understanding of HoleBASE and the transfer of AGS data;- Preparation of factual, interpretive and completion reports; - Analysis of geotechnical data using Rocscience software (SLIDE, DIPS);- Construction monitoring including delivering quarterly monitoring reports to the client;- Engineering geological / geomorphological mapping; - Desk study report preparation, including aerial photograph interpretation and the use of LiDAR for GIS-based terrain mapping.
