For 15 hours a month I'm working with Sam, a disabled boy of 14 years old. We do all kinds of things together, from educational, locomotive-stimulating activities to more relaxing and playfull activities. This can be: reading books, drawing, cycling, walking or swimming.

Working as the project facilitator within a watergovernance project of KWR, AWS and Kennisland issued by Waternet/AGV. We researched the possibilities for watergovernance for decentralised watersollutions in an urban environment. We did so through interviews with various stakeholders; representatives of various governmental agencies, initiatives working with decentralised sollutions, scientists, members of waterboards and other relevant stakeholders. I assisted the ports that are united in the 'Programma Waddenzeehavens' in developing their sustainability strategy with regard to Ecoports certification. This strategy is based on their current projects, their ambition and future potential projects. Also, I worked on developing a monitoring system for Ecoports certification for the port of Harlingen.

The Climate-KIC masterprogram gave me the opportunity to be part of a community of entrepreneurs, businesses, regional governments and academic institutions, focussing on solutions for climate change. Within the program I have followed courses with a focus on entrepreneurship and attendedtalks and seminars organized by the EIT knowledge and innovation community. Also, I have been able to use my creativity and develop my entrepreneurial skills during a 6 week contextual learning journey in London, Copenhagen and Wroclaw. During this summerschool my international team designed and developed a startup. We won the price of 'Best Pitch Presentation’ with presenting our business plan during an event in Wroclaw, Poland (2014).

My masterthesis was on the adoption of innovations in the context of the Mau Mara Serengeti Sustainable Water Initiative in Kenya (www.mamase.org). This is an initiative in which various partners try to establish economic development, combined with sustainable land and watermanagement in a rural area in Kenya. Within this initiative I focussed on the way in which the adoption of two agricultural innovations is influenced through the mental framework of stakeholders. Also, I looked at various types of participation that could be used to introduce the selected innovations. The innovations I focussed on were, the possibilities for bamboo and small scale, low-tech aquaculture in the area. Those two were selected because of their potential for sustainability and poverty reduction. I conducted field research independently, using social surveys, observations and semi-structured interviews. Interviews were done with local farmers, farmer cooperatives, companies, various governmental organisations and different NGO's such as WWF, SNV and The Nature Conservancy. This was done in order to map the network of stakeholders, get an insight in their mental framework towards the innovations and to understand the role of stakeholder participation in innovation adoption.

At Waternet Strategic Centre I’m working as a program assistant WATERgraafsmeer. WATERgraafsmeer is a network organization in which we work on making (a district of) the city of Amsterdam climate-proof. Part of my job is to keep the program-plan, in which all the relevant projects for Waternet are written down, up to date and to keep the projects running. Furthermore I'm organizing the symposium 'Amsterdam Rainproof', within a projectteam of six persons from different backgrounds and public services.

Finances and coordination of Storm (approximately 350 members). Responsible for the money flows of the study association of Environmental Sciences at the Utrecht University. Also responsible for several committees.
