Day to day management of the grounds maintenance contracts in the North West with a budget responsibility of up to 500K. Producing, developing and analysing data from fleet rounds, assisting with claims for LATS (Landfill Allowances and Trading Scheme) and managing recruitment, selection, performance, training, development and mentoring programmes as well as working closely with customers and partner organisations to facilitate best practice in all aspects of authority’s waste management activities. Effectively delivered three year role tasked with developing entire Borough’s ‘green space’ in partnership with internal and external agencies and community stakeholder groups. Managed Council’s nursery, Borough’s playground provision and Parks Department trainees, worked closely with interest groups and organisations to improve environment and raise living standards in parallel with encouraging investment and increasing tourism. Directly performance managed six colleagues and occasionally oversaw 45 other colleagues in absence of Parks Operations Officer.
