During this placement I am receiving training in object handling and collections management. Additionally, I will be conducting research into events in University of Birmingham’s history to support the curatorial team leading up to the various exhibitions linked with the 125th anniversary of the university.

In my role at the Back to Backs, I am responsible for welcoming visitors and addressing any inquiries they may have regarding the exhibition. My duties include ensuring an interesting and informative visitor experience by providing detailed information and necessary assistance.

During this role at The Barber Gallery, I supported administrative tasks such as data entry and filing, I also collaborated on social media strategies, creating engaging content for various platforms and learning about accessible content. This role honed my administrative, social media, and organisational skills while deepening my passion for the arts.

The key responsibilities within this role were to:- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks with consistency and quality.- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, taking orders accurately.- Maintain cleanliness of the preparation area and equipment.- Monitor and replenish coffee supplies and other items as needed.- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.- Adhere to company policies, including food safety and cleanliness standards.

Within this role I was responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining a clean and organised store. Additionally, helping with restocking shelves and ensuring that products are displayed attractively.
