Key Responsibilities:• Stakeholder Engagement and Mapping: Coordinated with the IGAD Cross Border Development Facilitation Unit in Moroto to conduct comprehensive stakeholder mapping across the Karamoja cluster, spanning Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and South Sudan.• Assessment and Selection: Conducted rapid assessments to identify Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across the region that would benefit from our program, enhancing community engagement and support.• Policy Advocacy: Collaborated with CSOs from Busia and other border regions to pinpoint and elevate policy issues at both national and regional levels, aiming to influence policy changes and improvements.• Community and CSO Support: Facilitated community summits with borderland CSOs, assisting them in identifying and strengthening their internal structures and capacities.• Capacity Building: Led targeted capacity-building initiatives for borderland CSOs, empowering them with the skills and knowledge needed for effective operation and impact.• Advocacy and Coalition Building: Spearheaded a coalition of borderland CSOs advocating for the signing and ratification of the African Union convention on cross-border cooperation, aiming to enhance regional integration and cooperation.• Knowledge Sharing: Organized platforms for knowledge and learning among borderland CSOs, fostering a culture of experience sharing and collective growth.
